Elven Federation

Written by Agent Serro

Throughout history, elves have always felt isolated and distant from all the other races in the world. They don't feel any animosity against the other races, it's more of them never having anything in common and being too far separated in cultural differences compared to the other Kingdoms. In the beginning elves would live away from the other civilizations but being close enough for trade and shared knowledge. As the years slowly passed by, the elves became even more isolated as they felt more at ease with their own race than the others. Back when the human empire was first being formed and the humans only had a small area of land, the elves had already predicted the turn out. After months of deliberation, the leaders of the different elves came to an agreement. They would form one single nation of elves, find a place where they could live alone and without interference from the other races.   After several years, elven scouts finally found the right place for them. North of the great mountains was a massive, dense and mystic forest and in the middle of that forest was a strange tree that was larger than any other tree known. Over the next few decades, the elves came together building the Elven Federation using this large tree as their main location. Over the next few hundred years they work together in harmony to form vast platform villages among the treetops out of sight from any prying eyes of others. Elves do not cut down trees for building, instead they use their vast knowledge of nature and elven magic to grow the trees, vines, branches into shapes and blending life into living structures for themselves.   As they first predicted, the Kovarian Empire started to march forward claiming more territory for themselves due to how quickly they were reproducing as the human numbers grew to such vast numbers. The elves were already using camouflage and other ways of making their villages unseen by others but now that the humans were approaching the great mountains steps had to be taken to ensure their privacy. All the great elder elf mages came together, casting a spell in perfect unison that took days upon days for the spell to be finished. More than a few mages died as they gave their very life force to make the spell work. After the spell took hold, only those of elven ancestry were able to actually see the treetop villages and structures now. As additional precautions they also formed an elven guard watch that patrolled the edges of the great forest in case others tried to enter the forest. If other races entered the forest, they used magic and elven tricks to fool them into becoming lost, disoriented and finding themselves right back at the edge of the forest. They also would use magic and elven tricks to make it sound like great monsters roamed the forest, that the very trees themselves would eat any that entered.   The Elven Federation is controlled by a council, having one member from each of the different elven ethnic groups working together to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the elven race as a whole. Each group has one main leader that specializes in their group's culture making sure that as the elves share a general culture their own unique cultures live on with pride. These individual leaders tend to be some of the oldest among them as they have the most wisdom, have a vast life of experiences to better help them provide what is best for the elven race in general. With a few exceptions as in the Drow and the Shadar-kai as the rest of the elves will never consider them real elves. They are disgracefully cursed people that have no shared blood among the true elves and are almost always killed on site due to the overly hostile prejudice between them.   To this day, almost everyone avoids the great forest, knowing it's haunted, evil, filled with great monsters and having no value whatsoever. There are of course always expectations to everything, it's incredibly rare but there have been other races that the elves took in as their own as they lived among them in harmony. There have been a few rare elves that have left to go out adventuring and to explore this world. So, it may be rare but there are sightings of elves from time to time among the different kingdoms and different races. They tend to keep to themselves, not ones to trust any that are not elf and never speak of their homelands.
