The Golden Mother of Darkness, also known as the mother of Everything, The Golden Lord, Lord of Dreams that Terrify, the Sea of Chaos and She Who Shines Like Gold upon the Sea of Chaos, is the creator and essence of the worlds.
She is a complex and chaotic entity whose purpose and motives are hard to understand, even by those few who know of her existence. Also, the female designation is arbitrary as The Golden Mother of Darkness has no gender, in truth, not even a form because she is the Sea of Chaos, and the Sea of Chaos is her. It could be said that she is the 'mind' or 'will' of it but that is only trying to pin it down for mortals' limited comprehension.
As The Golden Mother of Darkness is the Sea of Chaos itself, her actions, motivations and very existence are an enigma that no one can understand, and true to her chaotic nature she is beyond unpredictable. Even after she created the four worlds, she desired to have them destroyed and returned to her, but even when the opportunity arises to destroy them, she does not take it and allows them to keep existing.
She even created Mazoku to destroy them but alongside them created Shinzoku to protect them, which is further proof of her unpredictable nature. One individual believes she simply did everything she has done for her own amusement and does not care if the world is destroyed or continues existing, while others believe she creates chaos and conflict as she needs it to survive, but in the end the true answer is beyond mortal, dragon or demon understanding.
Despite seemingly not caring for the world, her position of whether or not she cares about these worlds including Kantania or its inhabitants is simply beyond the comprehension of others. All in all, these contradictory actions and behaviors of The Golden Mother of Darkness truly makes her a complex and hard to understand entity and her motivations and position may never be known. She is all and everything, able to blink her gold eyes and make even the mightiest of Gods cease to exist without any effort on her part. Her last known interference with Kutania was her involvement of War of the Infested.
