Personal history

Xenra was born in the midst of a giant storm. The first born to Queen Xalia, she was considered the most beautiful child born in generations. Xalia was harsh and cruel in her parenting. She always told Xenra, “If you are to be a ruler, you need to be more powerful than anything." Xenra grew to loathe her mother and the place she was forced to take in her society. She saw only rage and brutality from her mother. Xenra met a low-born steward named Dunklas and fell head over heels in love with him. He too hated Xalia and everything she stood for, and thought that Xenra would rule more fairly. Xenra went to her mother and told her she was ready to take her rightful spot as Queen, but Xalia laughed and dismissed her. The next day, Xenra and Dunklas started an uprising and Xalia died by Xenra’s blade. After decades of ruling Gloomspite, Xalia’s leftover supporters assassinated Xenra and Dunklas.

The eldest born heir to the Shaen empire, Xenra decided to rebel against the king and queen when she fell in love with a low born dark elf steward that served the castle.
