Ostelan

Ostelan is the Below, the place where non-magical races live together in a land of steel. Those from Above are unaware of the steely landscape that exists below them; they can't see it from where they sit above the clouds.

Geography

Mountains. The only mountains on Ostelan are near the north-east corner. They are the north-east border of where the ground is covered in steel; ostelians didn't bother covering the mountains themselves or the land just beyond them as no one inhabits it.
Steel. The rest of the landscape on Ostelan is covered in steel, and, in places near Voxtein and the mountains, stone. This is because Ostelians have renounced their connection to nature, instead believing in total order.

Fauna & Flora

There are no natural animals in the cities. Battery farms in Ashmore provide food for the three cities. There are hideous creatures in the land between the cities, making inter-city travel dangerous without proper protection or a fast mode of transport.
The flora that used to flourish in Ostelan has been destroyed by the Smothering: the covering of land with steel and stone.

Natural Resources

Water is gained via drainage systems. Rainwater flows down into grates in the cities into an underground reservoir.
Food comes from battery farms. Other crops are not harvested; Ostelians are almost entirely carnivorous.
Each city has a different purpose: Ashmore provides food, Voxtein provides metal and ores, as well as making them usable and providing huge sheets of steel that forms flat-pack housing, and Ironport trades with Extalamh to provide extremely expensive crops for the very richest of Below, as well as trading with the other two cities as a central point to buy anything you can't get from your own city.

Tourism doesn't really exist in Ostelan. Those from Below believe in total order, and tourism doesn't really come into it: they spend their time working, cooking, eating, and sleeping.
