Life, Death
The death of Emperor Warren Van Haals at the hands of his own gluttony.
After a malignant rule, Emperor Warren Van Haals died from his excessive consumption. The court saw his death as an opportunity to instate a leader that would set things right, but there were few options, thanks to the number of Shellbay natives that had been born to the late emperor. The best option would be a passive ruler, but the Saltkrigere were known to be particularly passionate in their ideals. In the passionate plight to return the realm to peace (or to have it truly subjugated), Warren's death was mostly forgotten, but he was written in history as an impudent, ungrateful, spiteful man who believed his own value greater than it truly was. More often than not, history records him with the name "Sahrna," rather than Warren, as the sacred name is scarcely worthy of any man, much less Van Haals. Ultimately, the choice was not up to the court, with Van Haals having selected his youngest son to rule, who was only 22 at the time, and as such barely knew his old and reclusive father. Known for being skittish and asocial, the court was content with his ascension.
