The first meeting between humans and the lizardlike Tara-Jhen.
After the loss of a ship and the loss of no less than 9 other crew members at this point, the Strand-Bloods were beginning to lose hope. A few were beginning to think that the creatures of this land were the devils that Bailum had been protecting them from. Certainly, the Prisonkeeps presence now made sense. It seemed there was nothing in this land but death, and no chance of reclamation of this land for the greater good of humanity. They took time to discuss what actions to take next. Having stayed here for so long, there would be little in the way of food for the voyage home. However, their prayers to Chal Churdour seemed to finally get answered. A group of bipedal, 6-foot-tall reptilians, happened across the group at the mouth of a nearby river. with the track record of hostility in this region, the Strand-Bloods kept their guards up. With the humans looking slightly like the deadly krimits, the lizardfolk felt the same. The use of fine tools on each side signaled some level of intelligence to the other group and led to simple communication. For about a day, the two groups stood on opposite sides of the river's mouth, watching each other before trying to communicate the next day. The Strand-Bloods were able to communicate with some simple pictures but would come to learn from the Tara-Jhen's survivability and language over the next few months.
