Purple Patternback Moth

Floating slowly through the Void is the Purple Patternback Moth, with Illonuit aboard, stuffed inside its furry coating. Many feel sorry for this moth, as it is subjected to endless booming music and flashing lights from the partying citizens that live on its back.

Anatomy

This particular moth is unique, and is one of few known moths to display such bright, aposematic colourations. The moth is named after the bright purple and pink spots and stripes along its mammoth abdomen. Gen has a fluffy ring of fur around its body where Illonuit is found, with small barbs that are used to defend the city from intruders.

One With The Void

Gen has one little trick up its furry coat. For a very short period of time, the moth is able to wrap itself in a veil of sparkling mothdust, allowing itself to completely disappear from view. This includes Illonuit and the resident humans, giving the settlement an incredible secret defense for fighting other cities.

Despite Gen and Illones becoming completely invisible during these , the blaring music can still be heard. Because of this, Illonuit's location is not fully hidden, and it has costed the city many attacks as the citizens refuse to give up their siren songs.

Gen

The Void is not actually a barren wasteland; countless atoms of various forms fill this nothingness. The first atom in existence was a hydrogen atom, and the Purple Patternback Moth is named Gen, after this element.
We need to find a new method of keeping this moth alive. So far feeding it, injecting it with blood, and sprinkling it with stardust is not working. Anyone have any ideas?
— Illonuit Council

A Slow Swim To Death

The Illone's insistence on continuously playing their obnoxiously loud songs has caused serious damage to Gen. The deafening music is slowly driving Glen insane, and its energy is dwindling. That and his role of swimming slowly through the Void is speeding up its slow swim to death.

Illones are aware of this, and because Glen is a unique moth they cannot afford to lose it. Unfortunately, Glen's death is inevitable as all host moths are destined to pass when they are taken over by humans. The Illonuit Council have tried many methods to keep Glen alive, such as injecting it with human blood, sprinkling stardust on its furry coat, and feeding it dead stars, but nothing is working.

Gen's Revival

The Illonuit Council is not giving up just yet, no. The council have been hard at work designing a magical piece of technology that should revive Gen, and stabilise the moth, keeping it alive and healthy for all eternity. The blueprints for this piece of technology are kept buried in a chamber, deep below Illonuit, and will only be taken out once the next manipulative energy store to create this machine.

Hold on, what's that? Is that a moth? I've never seen anything like it.
Must be, what else is in the Void. Can't be a silver maw, otherwise we'd be dead already.
Let's go take a closer look. If it's a big moth, maybe we can move Illonuit.
