Daran Edermath

An ex-member of the Northwatch Wardens; Daran and his squad were alerted too late by a wounded Northwatch Ranger of an incoming demonic force. They dispatched ravens to request aid, and the squad held the pass for three days before reinforcements could arrive. The rest of Daran's squad were killed, and Daran himself was severely wounded in combat with the Glabrezu commander. His chest was torn open and his left leg was crushed. However, reinforcements from Kildrasil were able to drive back the demons and rescue him before he died.
The scars across his chest will never fully heal, but are only visible through scrying magics. His leg was amputated and replaced with an ornate prosthesis of dwarven design.

Farmer in Phandalin. Now council member of Thundertree. Ex-Warden of Kildrasil. Experience fighting demons in the Northwatch Passes. Left Kildrasil and travelled to the the Summers Coast after the constant war became too much for him. Vowed not to fight again, until Phandalin was attacked. Surrogate father to Elsa Northbrook
