Starfire

A bio-luminescent water borne plant. Starfire grows long trailing tendrils, along which grow up to hundreds of tiny circular leaves (typically around 10mm in diameter). These leaves glow with pale blue light, giving the impression of stars floating in the water.
Multiple Starfire tendrils grow from a single central bulb which sprouts from the wall of the water source.
The blue light emitted by the leaves is a byproduct of a chemical reaction where the leaves break down and extract hydrogen from the water and absorbing it for sustenance.
