Selena
Selena was an innocent Dark Elf who lived in the Shadow Swamp with her sister Karina. After discovering that her sister was the Dark Elves' most notorious assassin, she sought guidance from their clan leader, whose corruption led him to sacrifice her to the Abyss instead. Suspended between the opposing powers of the Abyss and the Moon Goddess, Selena was stripped of her past and transformed into the Abyssal Witch, cursed to forever reign over the demonic creatures of the Shadow Abyss.
Far south of the Moniyan Empire lies the gaping maw of a bottomless chasm—a deep scar cleaved into the barren earth, as if by the blade of a Titan. The natives of the southern border would only speak in whispers about the forsaken place, which they have come to call the Shadow Abyss. Little does the world know, sealed far down the pit was an ancient evil, one who stoked dread even among the bravest in the Land of Dawn—The Abyss Dominator.
Over the centuries, the seal that bound the Dominator steadily weakened, giving way to the hungry will of the Shadow Abyss. Beneath its impenetrable darkness, abyssal demons schemed of ways to spread their dominance over the Land of Dawn. Many misguided believers offered their own people as sacrifices to the Abyss, feeding the demons in hopes of gaining dark powers in exchange.
Among those unfortunate victims was the young Dark Elf, Selena. Her own clan delivered her as an offering to the Abyss, knowing full well that the demons favored Elves for sacrifice. Her sister Karina tried to save her; but alas, Selena fell into the shadows nonetheless. The Abyssal demons began devouring her soul, filling her with agony as waves of pain rippled through every vein in her body.
But just as Selena was about to be entirely consumed by the Abyss, a miracle happened. A warm blue light enveloped her, as if battling against the darkness for control over her body. When Selena awoke, she found herself lying still in the depths of the Shadow Abyss. Her skin radiated with a strange blue glow and her once lavender eyes burned in a majestic shade of scarlet. Inside her, Selena felt the lumbering weight of Abyssal darkness.
The Will of the Abyss then spoke:
"This girl is loved deeply, and this love has kept her from yielding to the shadows. The opposing powers of the Abyss and the Moon Goddess have struck a balance within her body."
An ancient and deep voice echoed through the minds of the demons and said:
"Leave this girl to me….and she will become the champion of the Abyss!"
The Will of the Abyss appointed her as its voice, giving Selena uncontested rule over the Abyssal demons. Stripped of all memory of her past, Selena reigned over the demonic creatures of the Shadow Abyss with the Lord of the Abyss at her side.
Over time, Selena discovered how easily she could manipulate the Abyss’ dark magic. She learned how to absorb its power to transform herself into a demoness, capable of tearing her enemies into shreds.
No one from the Abyss dared question her rule. Even Alice, the proud Demon Queen, couldn’t help feeling uneasy when she laid her eyes upon the Dark Elf. For deep inside the seemingly harmless Selena, she sensed a terrifying evil biding its time to come out.
