OVERVIEW
Raised as a happy and curious little girl at first. Liked to get into trouble, and was very energetic. At 6 years old, she was found to have an affinity for fire. By 8 years old, she was being brutally trained. By 10, her parents were no longer present in her life. SIGNIFICANT EVENTS
5 Years Old
Her and Ryoma walk hand in hand down a side street during a celebration. An old lady sees them, and drops her items in shock. Falling to her knees, she weeps in pain and pity for the two children, and for her own losses in life. Sumiko becomes aware of her role in society and her influence on the people who surround her, especially outside of her clan/family. 6 Years Old
While playing with her dolls, she managed to ignite her front yard in a burst of fear; she watched her mother pin down her father, and threaten his life. When noticing her power, they decided to take advantage of it, and hone her abilities. They wanted her to become like them, as in her earlier years, they grew complacent and soft. Subtle manipulation of her mindset, priorities, beliefs, and power began at this age. 8 Years Old
For two years, she has been pushed to her limit. On her birthday, she is pushed past. She gets in a physical altercation with her mother in which, much like when she was 6, she explodes. This event burns off most of her hair, and gives her and her mother twin burns; Sumiko's chest and her mother's back. This is when her parents begin to avoid her, and put the energy spent pushing her into their own jobs. Her mother would be pregnant with her little sister, Mitsu, at the time. This guilt fuels her love and devotion to her little sister later in life. 10 Years Old
Sumiko has a self-realization of sorts. She adapts into truly, her own person, and while her parents become less and less present, she raises herself. She also hones her own ability and trains in her own way. This is where she starts fighting not for her parents, but for herself. She also bears the responsibility of caring for Mitsu. This goes on for the next 6 years. 16 Years Old
Sumiko goes to the Chuunin Exams.
