Decorum

Decorum is the changing of emotions. It is done by using the residual emotional energy left by those long dead. At its greatest it can make armies flee, people become slaves and start cults.

The world does not know about Decorum. It is taught in secret in the Archeology Guild to a group called Wards. Wards are often dispatched to keep the secret, often through violence or suppressing curiosity. Society at large doesn't know about them but some secret powers are aware. They are considered a threat but any that go after them are ruthlessly attacked.

It is taught and advanced as a science. It is well developed but with room to grow. Few learn fast enough in their lifetime to master all the skills offered.

Effect

There are three areas that an early practitioner will start to use; joy, sadness and Surprise. Other emotions can be focused on by specific practitioners by their own choosing. It can only amplify emotions so it is best used with preparation after setting up an emotion.

The three basic emotions that are taught are anger, joy and sadness. Individual Wards will develop these into more complex emotions over time and be able to use them in a range of creative ways.

Side/Secondary Effects

The cost of this power is with more use the Eidolon will release an idea, called an Overt, into the world which will compel people to follow it. These are often the causes of sudden ideas or movements forming. They will weaken the Ward until they are destroyed, meaning Wards will usually hunt them down.

Manifestation

It is not a visible ability, practitioners only need to "push" a sense at others. People will feel powerful uses of it even if they aren't the target. Practitioners can notice when their emotions are being altered.

Source

To get the power a group of researchers needs to identify an item that encapsulates an idea which are called Mementos. They then bind the Eidolon to the item using technology found in the depths of Paradigm. Lost Mementos are hunted and returned to the Archeology Guild but it often takes knowledge of what they are and training to make full use of them - they are often thought of as lucky charms.

The Eidolon that provide this power are sentient and require the users to progress the world towards what it wants inorder to give the user more power.
