Jerdok Ger

Jerdok Ger is a sacred orcish settlement located on the border of Turla Val and Turla Varma, a region of great spiritual significance. The city is perched above the revered Catalyst Mountain, Kruvarog Grarru, where the ancient spirits of the orcs are believed to reside. Deep within the mountain's caverns, known as Kruvarog Bor, lies the birthplace of these spirits, making it deserving of utmost reverence.   The settlement of Jerdok Ger was first built over 9,000 years ago during the forgotten age, making it one of the oldest still inhabited settlements in the world. The origins of early Orcdom have been shrouded in mystery, but the ancient shamans unanimously concur that their lineage can be traced back to Kruvarog Grarru, the Catalyst Mountain. It was here that the spirits' tranquil presence was first encountered, and the orcs' devotion to their sacred duty as protectors of the Shepherd began.   Over the millennia, Jerdok Ger has grown and evolved, maintaining its position as the stalwart guardian of the Shepherd's sacred domain despite the shifting views of the orcish people. At the same time that most modern orcs have abandoned the ancient clans of old, through countless generations, the orcs of Jerdok Ger have upheld their spiritual traditions, martial prowess, and reverence for the mountain and its spirits.

Government

At the core of Jerdok Ger's governance is the Council of Elders. This council is comprised of the most experienced and respected members of the community. The elders are chosen based on their wisdom, knowledge of orcish traditions, and dedication to the sacred mountain. They serve as advisors and decision-makers for the village's welfare, protection, and spiritual affairs. Their decisions are often reached through discussions and debates, considering the shamans' counsel and the Bogas Zovol. The shamans of Jerdok Ger form a separate council that works closely with the Council of Elders. This council is responsible for spiritual practices, rituals, and interpreting the spirits' guidance. The head shaman, known as the High Shaman, is the village's spiritual leader and plays a crucial role in mediating between the orcish community and the spirits of Kruvarog Grarru. The Shamans' Council holds excellent influence and is considered one of the most respected bodies in the settlement.   The Jerdok Bogas, renowned as the sacred warriors of Jerdok Ger, also have their leadership structure. Experienced Jerdok Bogas, who have excelled in their trials and demonstrated exceptional prowess, have become revered as Bogas Zovol. These champions lead the Jerdok Bogas in training, strategizing for potential threats, and coordinating their efforts to defend the mountain. They work closely with the Council of Elders and are respected for their martial achievements and spiritual devotion.   A special assembly known as the High Gathering takes place on significant occasions, such as the Eternal Vigil and other major ceremonies. During this event, the Council of Elders, the Shamans' Council, and the Warden convene to discuss matters of great importance and receive visions or messages from the spirits. The High Gathering plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the village and its connection to Kruvarog Grarru.   A group of appointed individuals manages trade and resource management within Jerdok Ger. They oversee the limited trade relations with other orc villages and ensure the equitable distribution of essential goods and resources among the community.

Defenses of Jerdok Ger

Jerdok Ger is encircled by towering stone walls, expertly constructed to withstand attacks and provide a formidable defense. These walls are regularly maintained and reinforced to ensure their strength and effectiveness. Strategically positioned watchtowers and lookout posts line the walls and key locations within the village. From these vantage points, sentinels keep a constant watch over the surroundings, alert for any signs of potential threats.   Guard posts are stationed along the pathways leading to Jerdok Ger, providing early warning of approaching individuals or groups. Orcish warriors take turns manning these posts, rotating shifts to maintain vigilance day and night.   The mountainous terrain of Kruvarog Grarru itself serves as a natural barrier against invaders. Steep cliffs, rocky slopes, and treacherous passages deter all but the most determined foes. Hidden within the mountain's labyrinthine depths, Jerdok Ger holds secret passages that act as escape routes or surprise ambush points for the Jerdok Bogas and defenders. These passages are known only to the most trusted individuals.

The Jerdok Bogas

The Jerdok Bogas are renowned as the sacred warriors of Jerdok Ger, chosen for their exceptional martial prowess and unwavering dedication to the Shepherd's protection. The most skilled and revered Jerdok Bogas are bestowed with the title of Bogas Zoval. These elite warriors lead the ranks of the Jerdok Bogas under the cooperation of the Council of Elders.   The Jerdok Bogas undergo intense and specialized martial training. They are skilled in various forms of combat, including melee, ranged combat, and hand-to-hand combat. Their training emphasizes both physical strength and agility, allowing them to be swift and formidable on the battlefield. The Jerdok Bogas also possess minor magical abilities, granted by the blessings of the spirits and the mountain itself. These abilities may include heightened senses, quicker reflexes, and enhanced strength.   The Jerdok Bogas are deeply devoted to Kruvarog Grarru and the Shepherd's sanctity. Their belief in their sacred duty fuels their determination, making them fearless and resolute defenders of Jerdok Ger. Before major battles or during important rituals, the Jerdok Bogas engage in ceremonial combat. This display of martial prowess serves as both a way to invoke the blessings of the spirits and a show of unity and strength to inspire their fellow villagers. The Jerdok Bogas have dedicated training grounds within Jerdok Ger, where they continually hone their skills and engage in physical conditioning to maintain peak performance.
