Stalking through the darkness of the
Titanic Deeps, ravenous for prey, and a nightmare sight for those unlucky enough to encounter them. Created by one of the remnant
Titans long ago as a guard creature and then abandoned, the Urrg of the deeps roam the caverns and halls left behind. Devouring what creatures they encounter, Urrg are a danger to underground wildlife and settlements alike.
A Monstrous Menace
With the largest of these creatures standing several feet tall, with a thick hide, deep urrg are dangerous and threatening hunters. Their growl rumbles like rocks grinding together and echoes through caverns as they hunt. Their size does make it challenging for them to pursue prey into smaller passages, but their mass and toughness does allow them to bash their way through weak barriers. This can make them a particular threat to the few settlements found in the Titanic Deeps (there are a handful of intelligent species who make their homes in the abandoned halls and caverns) in that they can largely ignore even walls build from stacked stone. While they are not nearly the most dangerous creature in the Deeps, they are certainly one of the most impressive on the attack.
The urrgs' diet is primarily carnivorous, preferring to hunt down slower prey such as
Fire-Eye Diggers. But they are capable of finding sustenance in particularly meaty fungi as well, but such a diet can sometimes be lacking and will not provide a proper diet long-term. Urrg are almost entirely wild, and aren't tamed by any sentient species in the Deeps. They will live briefly in small family packs, but their size means that they will generally be solitary except when mating or raising young. They can be fairly territorial as well - while many larger creatures do exist within the Deeps, the primary threat to an urrg is another, larger urrg.
