The Ambush Of The Plains

Zarek's Campaign led to the eventual downfall of The Tar Faction due to how much it weakened the criminal organization, making its conquest in The Ral War possible. Even though it led to the downfall of the The Faction the military campaign did come to an end in a brutal way mid-war. Zarek Porv and his forces were ambushed in a rural area of The Tar Faction and killed. In the east of The Faction, the Ral forces were wreaking havoc on the land and its people. The Tar Faction had to stop the Rals at all costs, and thus, after finding out where the invading troopers were, they desperately organized an ambush against them to stop their advance at all costs. Bandits and soldiers across the faction were rallied for this one defense. It was a desperate attempt to stop them, and Heaenden Yun ordered it himself, fearing that the alternative was to allow the Rals deeper into their territory.
When Commander Porv and his unit of troops came around to attack another region in The Faction, the defenders were there waiting to ambush. The battle would take place in an open field and once the Rals came in sight the men of The Faction and charged at them, giving the Rals some time to prepare. Arrows were used on the Rals and once the two sides started to fight in close quarters, fire began to be used. Before ambushing, fire was planned to be weaponized in the battle by attaching it to arrows. In the beginning, the arrows that were on fire were ineffective and didn't cause any casualties, but once in close quarters, the ground and soldiers from Ral and The Tar Faction alike began to be caught on fire.
Zarek Porv himself died in the fire, along with many others. After the battle, reinforcements from The Tar Faction arrived to capture the remaining Rals. The ambush of the plains brought an end to Zarek's Campaign but at a heavy cost and not soon enough, for many in the east of The Tar Faction were dead from Porv's actions. Even though his conquest ended in a brutal way, his military campaign was a turning point for the Rals.
