The Tar Revolution
In the Tar region of Ral, tension began to rise between the people and the Ral federal and regional government and rule. This tension and anger began because, in the region, crime lords and gang members started to rise and begin their illegal crime and smuggling operations in the region. The government attempted to limit and shut down the black market but failed every time. Slowly, the everyday people became more involved with illegal activities and operations, and the black market became a part of their lives. The Ral soldiers and government started to look more like their threat than their protectors since everyone was part of the crime business due to their desperation to earn money. Eventually, the various criminal cells started to band together for mutual survival and planned to get more involved in fighting back against the government. They would carry out attacks against government and military buildings and outposts. The lords of the Tar region promised the people that they could give them prosperity and better lives and that Ral was oppressing them, and they should fight back against them. This led to the Tar revolution, where for six years the people fought against their government and carried out attacks on the Rals in the region. In the end, the Ral government settled, gave the people of the region their independence, and set up a border with them. The new nation would be called The Tar Faction and was run by crime lords and powerful families which didn't give back to the people as they promised but forced them to work for the various criminal cells.
The reason the people were so involved with crime was because there was nothing else to do besides smuggle and kill for a profit. There were no other jobs and the region was a dangerous place, so most people became smugglers or bandits to survive.
