Arcardi Item Curses

Arcardi Item Curses

After the Third Disintegration a disease spread from the area. That disease was the The Arcardi Plague. The disease existed in different mutations and some of these mutations affected magical items rather than beings. While not strictly curses the different mutations affectecting magical items were called Arcardi Curses or Arcardi Item Curses.  

No Charge Regeneration

Item requirements: Item with charges
Effect: Cannot regain charges  

Magic Eater I

Item requirements: Item that requires attunement by a spellcaster.
Effect: Whenever someone attuned to the item would regain spell slots only half the level of spell slots are regained (minimum of 1).  

Magic Eater II

Item requirements: Item that requires attunement by a spellcaster.
Effect: Someone attuned to the item cannot regain spell slots.    

Dispeller

Item requirements: Item that requires attunement by a spellcaster.
Effect: Whenever the attuned user casts a spell there is a 10% chance that it will be dispelled as by the effect of Counterspell (with a +0 bonus for higher level spells).  

Heal Snatcher I

Item requirements: -
Effect: Whenever the wielder would be healed by magic the healing amount is halved.  

Heal Snatcher II

Item requirements: -
Effect: The wielder cannot be healed by magic.  

Life Eater

Item requirements: Item that requires attunement by a spellcaster.
Effect: During each day, at dawn, the attuned person must make a DC 10 saving throw with their spellcasting ability. On a failed save their maximum HP is reduced by 1d4 and they lose one spell slot. For each week unattuned to this item the person regains 1d4 maximum HP and 1 spell slot (starting with the lowest level spell slot).  

Death Seeker

Item requirements: -
Effect: While on person, the carrier has disadvantage on death saving throws and cannot be healed while unconcious.  

Disattunement

Item requirements: -
Effect: While on person, the carrier has 1 less attunement slot.  

Weak Attunement I

Item requirements: Item that requires attunement.
Effect: The effect has a chance to take effect whenever a spell is cast by the wielder, an effect of the magic item is used or the item is used for an attack or check that requires a roll. Whenever a spell is cast that does not require an attack roll, roll a D20 anyway to check if the effect occurs. On a natural 1 this item is unattuned from the wielder.  

Weak Attunement II

Item requirements: Item that requires attunement.
Effect: The effect has a chance to take effect whenever a spell is cast by the wielder, an effect of the magic item is used or the item is used for an attack or check that requires a roll. Whenever a spell is cast that does not require an attack roll, roll a D20 anyway to check if the effect occurs. On a natural 1 all items attuned to the wielder are unattuned.
