Mimic
Mimics are shapeshifters that disguise themselves as anything that will attract the most prey possible. The most common appearance of them is a treasure chest, a door, or some form of furniture.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Mimics reproduce by budding. It's not uncommon to find one with another mimic growing out of it. The parent carries the infants inside their mouth until they are old enough to fend for themselves and they are fed the leftovers.
Ecology and Habitats
Dungeons, prisons, caves, anywhere a lot of people travel to for loot.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Mimics are carnivores.
Additional Information
Domestication
Mimics can be tamed to act as guards or familiars in homes or bases of operation. Some can be trained to keep watch over valuables or be a handy form of portable furnishings. They must be fed regularly however, or else the consequences are deadly.
