The Mångfald Wood
Lawke's Zoo
A mile or so past Lawke's Academy lies the Mångfald Wood. Often referred to as "Lawke's Zoo" by the local townsfolk, its magical wards are there to protect the locals as much as the exotic flora and fauna within.
Geography
Situated northeast of Haverstock and bordering the Eastern side of Fiskhund Lake, the Mångfald Wood is a portion of the naturally occurring Haverwood Forest and comprises the majority of Lawke's Academy grounds.
The southern edge of the Mångfald skirts the plains and fields of the Verdant Grasmark and its northern edge ends as the treeline recedes into the heights of the (Gebondekrag?) Mountains.
Fauna & Flora
The majority of the foliage in the Mångfald Wood still mirrors that of the Haverwood Forest. The lower-lying portions along the lake front and (INSERT_NAME) river are distinctly deciduous with plentiful undergrowth of vine and bush. As the Wood gains elevation towards the neighboring mountains, the undergrowth fades and the trees take on a more coniferous bent. Deer, squirrels, giant spiders, possums, owlbear, and all manner of "normal" forest creatures can be found within the Mångfald.
However, throughout the Wood the faculty of Lawke's Academy have created mystical pockets of flora, fauna, and geography not native to the region. These "groves," as they are called, are used to train the students about the terrain, plants, and animals found in different regions of Anscyor.

History
- The land was purchased and annexed from the Haverwood Forest by Judith and Reginald Lawke shortly after founding Lawke's Academy.
- Reginald Lawke traded in favors to have magical barriers/auras set up along its edges.
- One barrier steers uncredentialed visitors away from the "groves" and instills a general sense of boredom so that they quickly lose interest and leave.
- Another barrier works in conjunction with runic "tags" placed on imported fauna (and mobile flora) to keep them within the Wood.
- Allyna and Gorin Syllaris were recruited by Judith Lawke to oversee the wood as Grovekeeper and Forest Warden, respectively.
