Greenstone Alliance

The Greenstone Alliance was one of a number of successor-states that emerged in the wake of the fall of the Katari Empire. Comprising the mages of the Collegium Transmutione at Lapis, the dynastic princes of Cameri, and the Rathi Elves of Lith Terrin, it was founded in 552 AK to defend the agricultural heartlands of the Vixion Plains against incursion by hostile forces. Whilst each of the tree parties maintained their independence, this led to a degree of close cooperation between them which has to a certain extent persisted until this day. The name of the alliance comes from a curious event that is said to have occured in the region in 545 AK, when thousands of magically-charged green stones known as Sky Emeralds rained down upon the Vixion Plains and the surrounding region. Whilst a great number of theories have been advanced for the cause of this event - many of which are highly outlandish - the general scholarly consensus supports the theory developed by the mages of Lapis at the time - that these were somehow the result of uncontrolled magical energies that had been released by the destruction of Kinik Kataris. The Greenstone Alliance was disbanded in 694AK, following the capitulation of Cameri and Lapis to Erastes Tideborn. It is understood that a significant proportion of the military forces of the Alliance went on to become the Collegiate Guard of Lapis.
