Pangratic Karst

Stretching between Auditore and the Scorran Estuary , the Pangratic Karst is a great limestone ridge that stretches for almost a hundred miles in length. The landscape is imposing and difficult to navigate, dotted with canyons, caves and sinkholes. The Karst has often been used as a refuge for those fleeing the authorities, and during the First War of Savuran Independence it was the site of a number of skirmishes between Alderni forces and the Savuran militias. The most notable of these was the Battle of the Karst in 1331AK, when the insurgent forces of Staggia held off an Alderni army three times their size for almost a week before reinforcements could arrive from Mesoscorrana to force the royalists to retreat. Today, the Karst has reverted to its somewhat lawless state, especially in the portion of it that lies between Staggia and the Scorran Estuary, which is notorious as a haven for bandits.
It is said that some of the caves in the Pangratic Karst are deep enough that they stretch into the mysterious and dangerous underground realm of Duncarak, and that they connect into the lower vaults of Vash Turoth.
