Clasp of Vergren
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement by a Spellcaster)
The wearer, once attuned to the clasp, can recharge all of their spell slots once per day. The ability recharges at dawn every day provided a connection to the Weave can be established.
Simply by uttering the magical command word (Mesos), the Clasp of Vergren connects to the ambient magical energy of the Weave allowing the wearer to recall any spell already cast that day. The spellcaster could then cast that spell again without having to proceed through the usual methods of preparation. It did not matter whether the spell had been prepared by arcane or divine means.
The Clasp of Vergren also protects the wearer from being scried upon. Although it does not prevent anyone from scrying upon the wearer, whoever is scrying upon the wearer of the Clasp of Vergren must immediately make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be targeted by a feeblemind spell.
History
According to Tsendur, a half-orc wizard who once lived in Phandalin, the Clasp of Vergren is a magical item that was created by a deity named Mesos and was stolen and hidden by another deity, Enkili, as a prank. What world or plane these two deities resided in the wizard did not know having heard the story told by the proprietor of a magic item shop Tsendur visited in the city of Neverwinter.
After a devastating fire destroyed Tsendur's tower, Tsendur claimed he was attacked in his tower by an elven woman and several robed figures who moments before came unannounced. The woman asked Tsendur about the clasp and had asked to see it. When he declined, she suddenly commanded the others to reveal themselves. Tsendur was horrified to see several zombies with the woman. Suddenly, she uttered a word and the zombies burst into flames.
Tsendur had heard of Scorch Zombies but knew they were extremely rare and took a necromancer who also specialized in evocation magic to create them. The wizard also claimed that he did not know who the woman was, but that he did recognize her and recalled seeing her in the city of Neverwinter during his last trip there.
Brimsdall convinced Tsendur to let him keep the Clasp of Vergren if he were to go and retrieve the lost item. Tsendur, who was considering retiring from adventuring, acquiesced. Tsendur added he was going to move to Interior Faerûn and not rebuild his burnt tower and retire in peace.
Brimsdall eventually did track down the elven woman, slew her, and claimed the Clasp of Vergren as his own.
