Olga Whetherby grew up in the rocky cliffs of Citadel Adbar. Her father worked in the forges and her mother was a traveler. Olga was ugly, but extremely personable and a giant flirt, so she always had the company of friends and lovers despite her lack of hygine. She was a born fighter, one of the strongest of her peers, and started to train to become a soldier in her youth. She knew she wanted to defend her home and defend those that could not defend themselves.
She married Bardus Gragnak Whetherby, a swarthy, taller than average dwarf. At their wedding, he gifted her with a war hammer, which she named Gragnak in his honor (and also because she thought it sounded cool) but they only shared a brief time together before they both entered the War of the Silver Marches and Bardus fell in battle. This sparked a new fire in Olga, and any mention of his death is avoided by her peers.
Her newfound, brute nature led her to the invitation to take post at the great drawbridge; the only entrance to the dwarven enclave; of the city, which she guarded faithfully for three years without fail until she was captured and brought to Ironslag.
