Ragoki

Ragoki legends tell of firstborn knights forsaking the dedication to the Almighty to become gods themselves. Letholet was the greatest firstborn invoker of the third era who became so powerful as to invent a ritual that ascended the physical form of himself and his followers to magnificent and tremendous avian creatures, rivaling the splendor and power of dyragans.    Over the centuries the ascended genes of the rolok have receded to the point of producing a people of birdlike men and women. The ragoki people of today are obsessed with rediscovering the ascended form of their ancestors and become gods once again. The temple knights of the third era launched an inquisition on their own temples as some tried to leave "the way" to ascend to this alleged godhood. As powerful as the rolok were, the sheer numbers and fanaticism of the the knights of the way eventually drove the rolok back to the eastern shore of Herelin where they flew across the sea to inhabit a far away desert land. At first the firstborn attempted voyage to defeat the last of the enemy, but the logistical burdens of the vast ocean and the brutal sweltering desert proved to be too much for any further pursuit. The rolok, or ragoki as they are now called have not been seen since and have faded into myth. The ragoki still retain traits from their godlike ancestors and inherit the most potent invoking power of all mortalkind. Unlike firstborn and novun however, they do not possess the hardiness for prolonged physical battle. Their bones are hollow so that their bodies are light enough to be carried in flight and their small lungs are unable to hold large amounts of air, further contributing to their light bodyweight but preventing their stamina from enduring in physical bouts. Despite their physical limitations, a ragoki can live to 120 years of age.
