Sir Branoc the Sailor
Knight of Larksnest
Of Breton stock and reportedly born at sea, Sir Branoc followed in his father's footsteps when he departed Vannetais and joined up with the young British Prince Aurelius.
Branoc was son of a proud warrior, Sir Argat Corfec, the broad-shouldered shieldman of King Aldronius, who had been interwoven with the Pendragons since before Branoc was born.
When Branoc himself finally found someone to be devoted to, he found Roderick ap Robyn, the young count of Salisbury. The two of them grew to be fast friends, and it was little wonder that Branoc settled in Salisbury when his Lord decided to enfeoff him with Larksnest Manor near Alder.
He was already wed when he arrived in Britainnia, and his wife is his dearest friend, and his children are his pride and joy, but some say his love lay elsewhere. Most said it was the sea, but others claimed the man might have more love for his lord.
A sailor by nature, his skills have rarely been used, but always been of paramount importance when used. During the Frisian campaign, Sir Branoc was the one who piloted the ship far enough ashore that the Salisburians, could chagre ashore, lead by a mounted Sir Perrin of Toulouse, shattering the Frisian lines. If not for his skills, the Battle of the Wash might have gone very differently for the Salisburians.
Yet, at the battle of Linden, he finally broke a wave too large to handle. He defended what he loved. His children. And his lord.
