Criminal Activity
Though the cult had a lesser presence in the Halfling North than in other places, they were just as resiliant. When the armies on all the other nations marched on their lairs, they went into hiding. They grew in numbers, and maintained their power. Now, they strike out at the Halfling North with the dark magic that the Eternals granted them.
The Years of Chaos left the cult dying, and weak. Still, you cannot kill a belief entirely. Just like so many times before, they rose from the ashes with the intent of reducing all others to ahses. They started in New Moonfall, where they resumed standard operations. New Moonfall's government immediately assigned their rogues, and rangers to deal with this threat before it spreads too far. They were too late. The cult had units, and lairs all over the Halfling North. They had a long standing alliance with the dwarven nation Midor. When the Halfling North came to Midor for aid, they answered. Midor sent their theorium armed, and armored army. However, it the last century, the cult grew far larger than expected. Even the Theorium weapons and armor supplied by Midor were insufficiant to fight off the cult. Their dark magic was simply too powerful. Eventually, the Halfling North was in a state of resistance. The rogues would provide sanctuary to any civilians who were running from the cult. Eventually, Midor came to Fafnia, and requested the support of their Pillar Warriors. Fafnia had one demand in exchange for their support. Direct access to Mt. Theose, and the ability to forge their own weapons directly at the source. Midor was forced to agree. Fafnia sent their Pillar Warriors to aid the Halfling North. With the help of their divine magic, they were able to push the cult back to their lairs. Now that Fafnia has held up their end of the deal, Midor was forced to hold up theirs. Fafnia was granted the ability to forge their own weapons of theorium at the source: Mt. Theose.
