Founding
The founding of the pillar warriors. Fafnia's elite group of divine warriors. They protect Fafnia, it's peoples, and it's beliefs.
After the Fafnian civil war, the same war that forged Dogarus, Fafnia needed a way to counter Dogarus' Siegebreakers should they go to war again. One thing stood out. The Siegebreakers were a non-magical unit. If Fafnia used magical warriors, they might push the Siegebreakers back. Someone suggested using templars and, prophets. These sword, shield, and divine magic wielding warriors would be just enough to beat Dogarus should they go to war. They wouldn't use just any templar, or prophet, but only the most powerful. They must bridge the gap between the mortals of Eternity, and the divine. Like a pillar between the ground, and the summit. This meant many of the Pillar warriors were older in years as most of the time you get stronger with experience. Though young Pillar Warriors do exist. One such example is Sudea Haedros. She was chosen to be a pillar warrior at age twenty three. (Seventeen in draconin years)This gave them the name, pillar warriors. The first was a templar named Xanar Fortaus. He was not only a Draconin, but an ascendant Draconin. A Draconin so powerful in the realm of natural, or divine magic, that their current bodies cannot contain their power, and their bodies take one step closer to their draconic origin. Wings stretch forth from their back. (This is also the pinnacle of physical attractiveness for Draconin) Xanar was not only a Pillar Warrior, but the leader the Pillar Warriors. This unit was divided into three units. There was the first pillar, the second pillar, and the third pillar. The first pillar was the wartime offensive tier. They'd go out and snuff out all threats to Fafnia, and it's people. The second pillar would defend Fafnia's borders, and serve as a military police for Fafnia. The third pillar, would defend Fafnia's capital, and all religious temples. If you're a Pillar Warrior, you are addressed with upmost respect, called bu your full name, class and your pillar. (eg. Xanar Fortaus, Templar of the First Pillar) In more formal occasions, you are also addressed by your deity as well. (Xanar Fortaus, Templar of the First Pillar, worshiper of Horoth) Before each battle, a pillar warrior would preform an armoring ritual. It's just them, and a holy armorer. The pillar warrior would approach the armorer, all but stripped down. They'd kneel, hands at their side, and head bowed. The armorer says, “Recite the oath.” The oath goes, “With pride, I bear my weapon(s) as they are symbols of Fafnia's might.” The weapons of choice are given to the Pillar Warrior. “With joy I bear my armor as I give the gift of my life, and soul for Fafnia, and it's people.” The Pillar warrior's armor is equipped by the armorer. “With humility, I bear the Fafnian insignia, as it symbolizes something much greater than myself.” Pauldrons, a cape, or a shield bearing the Fafnian insignia are equipped by the armorer. The Pillar warrior is addressed by his full name, his class, his pillar, and his deity. “Are you ready to serve Fafnia, in the same way Horoth defended all draconin on the old world?” Asks the armorer. “Yes” says the Pillar warrior. The Pillar warriors would defend Fafnia from many a threat for centuries to come
