Draconin (dra-co-nin)
Anthropomorphic dragons, though their basic shape seems human, they are anything but. Their features include scales, horns, a tail, and other draconic features. They are a proud, and noble race. To them, nothing is more important than their family circle, and bloodline.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They are structured like other humanoid beings. Though their draconic origin gives them some other features. These include a dragon-like head, scales, horns, claws, and a tail. Their scales are stronger than other humanoid's skin, especially the scales protecting their front, which are larger, and thicker than all their other scles.
Genetics and Reproduction
The process of reproduction for a draconin, is very similar to that of other humanoid races. Live birth, etc. The mother carries the child for up to two years. While with child, female draconin are far less vulnerable than other races. There are never twins. Instead, under circumstances where there would be twins, the child would be either much larger, and stronger than other draconin, or they are born with a skin condition called Aliuma. The mothers feed their young with an acid designed to strengthen their digestive strength to prepare them for the harsh, and sometimes poisonous meals they may need to eat to survive.
Growth Rate & Stages
Like humans, they start out as babies. No horns, tail, etc. Their years work differently too. They mature around 23 years old. The average life expectancy is about one 115 years The horns, and tail don't grow in until the pubescent stages of their development. Once they are a fully matured adult, they unlock the breath weapon. All males breath fire, all females breath ice.
Ecology and Habitats
They prefer a warm, moist environment, similar to other reptiles. Though they can survive sub-zero temperatures for a prolonged period.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They are largely carnivorous. the only plants they consume are that which is in their adult beverages. They have ranches for Eternity's farm animals which they breed, raise, and kill for food.
Biological Cycle
The aging works similarly to that of a human. Their born, they grow up, their health deteriorates slowly over time, they get old, and die. The only difference is, it takes much longer. The color of their scales varies from season, to season. During the spring, and summer months, their colors are vibrant, and full. This is when the shine of the metallic scaled draconin is most visible. The color fades during the autumn, and winter months. The metallic shine becomes less visible. Silvers become more of a white, golds become more of a yellow, and coppers become more of an orange.

Most draconin names are words, or phrases in old draconic. Males have often sharp names with short vowels, and generally less than seven letters. (ex. Horoth, or Verak) Females have softer names, with more flexibility as far as vowels. (ex Sudea, or Etaria) Like all naming styles, there are exceptions to the rules. Soft male names, and sharp female names do happen. (ex. male, Crotaous, female, Thetia) Last names can range anywhere from sharp, to soft. Long vowels, or short. (ex. Akkamara, or Haedros)
Major Organizations
There are two draconic nations, Fafnia, and Dogarus. Both are on the southern landmass, and both have their own military unit. Fafnia has the Pillar warriors. Divine warriors that protect Fafnia, and it's people. Dogarus has Horoth's siegebreakers. Mounted heavy cavalry unit who's armor is decorated with huge metal wings extending from their backs. There are other organizations, each with major influence over a certain sector. Too many to name in one entry, as they all have lore, and significance that deserves it's own entry entirely.
Beauty Ideals
Gender attraction is that of man, to woman, and vice versa. They as a race value strength, both physical, and mental. The males find long, slim horns, and tales attractive, and the females prefer strong musculature as a feature in the males. The absolute pinnacle of beauty is ascendence. When a draconin gains so much power in the realm of sorcery, or divine magic that their bodies cannot contain it as they are. They take one step closer to their draconic origan. They sprout wings.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Translation is, A warrior in birth. A warrior in death. Or a name for those who abandon their people, and beliefs to serve the Eternals. They call them Krauksaud
Common Etiquette Rules
Common etiquette is not so different from what you might expect. There's basic things like don't interrupt, don't be rude, etc.
Common Dress Code
They proudly display their draconic heritage on everything, including what they wear. Dragons are displayed on every piece of clothing. At their core, they are warriors, built to serve their nation, and the dragons that watch over them. This means that much of what they wear has some light, decorative protective plating in assorted patterns, and textures. While other nations like Heodar, and Midor have strict rules about what can, and can't be shown, the draconic people have a little more leniency as to this matter. So long as it is not innapropriate, it is viewed as one displaying their strength, or what makes them strong. For formal occaisions, they heve what is reffered to as a war suit by the males, and battle dress by the females. A war suit is simple, tight fitting leather garments with decorative armor plating on the chest, shoulders, and knees. Female's battle dresses are a little looser fitting, and have skirts hanging down to the shins. They too have plating on the chest, and shoulders, but there are no sleeves.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
They are proud of their draconic heritage, and proudly show it. Everything from architecture, to decor, there is some reference to dragons. Warfare is a major part of their history, and nearly every draconin will have a weapon by their side.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
The most prominent tradition would be the forging of the blade. when a draconin nears maturity, they will often forge their own unique sword. It can be anything from a short sword, to a great sword. They choose the material, the style, even the forge. This shows that the young draconin is ready to become an adult. Regardless of gender, a young draconin must preform this rite of passage.
Common Taboos
Pacifists are viewed as strange as this is a race of warriors. They are viewed as near useless to the society as war is always possible, and a pacifist wouldn't be anywhere near a battle.
History
Like all people groups, they came through the portal between worlds. Once they established that they could survive on their own, they journeyed south, and formed their nation, Fafnia. Over time, as freedoms were stripped away, unrest rose among the people. A civil war started, and a second draconic nation was formed, Dogarus. The two nations have healed their relations since then, and are now true allies.
