On the new world, people need some way to entertain themselves, and others.

The new world was (mostly) safe, with the supplies needed to survive. However, mortal beings seek stimulation. Most fiction from the old world was burned. Writers of the old world were still developing a way to get their new stories out among the people. After the Draconin had forged their nation Fafnia, they'd seek methods of entertainment. Being a race of warriors, the first thing that came to mind was arena combat. They'd carve training weapons out of wood, and put two strong draconin in a ring, and instruct them to knock the other to the ground.   As time went on, the rules of the sport changed. The attire of the competitors varied depending on the gathering. Professional, and sponsored events would see the participants wearing full armor. Amateur events would see basic colored street clothing. Private events would see the participants wearing only basic cloth coverings, just enough to stay decent. No matter if the event was professional, or private, both genders were allowed to participate. All they need is skill with bladed weapons, and a tolerance for pain. The events were mostly held during the summer months, though indoor matches do happen in colder times.
