Shrine of the Outsiders
Mutanio Va c'Ronvidoreluda, or Shrine of the Outsiders in Irocran, is a ruined Indorai shrine located in northern Vinato. It is one of the few known Indorai religious sites to exist outside of Irocra.
Purpose / Function
The shrine likely served as a place of worship for nearby settlements before The Great Invasion. While some devout Indorai travel here for worship purposes in modern day, the Indorai church has not formerly claimed the shrine and it mostly serves as a place of interest for tourists to northwestern Vinato.
Architecture
The entrance to the shrine is a tunnel carved into the side of the mountain. Crystal lanterns, restored or modeled after those that were found in the ruin, line the tunnel to light the way to the heart of the shrine.
The heart of the shrine is a large, dome-shaped room likely carved out by skilled aggregants. At equal points along the room are four altars carved into the walls. In the center of the room is a circular dais surrounded by stone benches. Carvings along the wall display both Indorai and Krauphy motifs.
Skylights were carved out in the main cavern and the tunnel to light the space. These skylights were covered up by either shifting rocks or plant growth during the time the shrine was forgotten, but have been cleared since discovery.
History
While it is hard to pinpoint when exactly the shrine was built, it was likely built by Vintorse converts in the remote reaches of the Ganuiles Mountains during the Indorai outreach in the 300s AN. The shrine was likely abandoned in the early stages of the Great Invasion when nearby residents fled their homes in order to escape the impending Horde and the entrance was concealed by a landslide.
The shrine remained forgotten until an expedition in 1121. An aggregant in the group sensed a disruption in the energy of the rocks they were climbing over, indicating some sort of cavern behind them. After some searching they were able to find a small gap in the rocks that they could squeeze through. They found themselves in a tunnel, which they followed to the heart of the shrine.
What they found inside was a cavernous space with four altars, each adorned with a statue. Intricate but exhausted crystal lanterns were strung along the walls and lined what must have once been pathways to the altars. In the center of the cavern were stone benches circling a round platform.
The explorers were able to identify that three of the altars were dedicated to the Indorai gods Aveces, Menudo, and Siempre by identifying the name of Menudo in the barely-readable inscription on one of the altars. The fourth altar would remain a mystery until cultural experts were able to investigate the site, and identify the deity as Nusy, an obscure god of the Krauphian pantheon.
This discovery fell in line with what was known of the Indorai outreach before the Great Invasion. Indorai missionaries would often explain the existence of other gods as Menudo's way of reaching out to those who were not his chosen people, the Irocai. For this reason they would often allow those they were proselytizing to to continue worshipping their god alongside the "true" gods as long as they understood the truth.
