Splische (spli she)

I'm not saying their brains are filled with rocks or anything, but the lot in Splische get a bit too cocky around pay day. It's not my fault they're so easy to dupe at a game of cards.
Splische is a mining village in southern Domthe that was established during the Locrium rush in the mid 1100s. It is connected with the southern-most company owned locrium mine in the Thetbron Mountains.

Demographics

The population of Splische is majority aggregant, most of whom make their living through the nearby locrium mine. Though some families have settled in the area, the population remains majority adult male. Though most residents come from Domthe, a significant portion relocated from Porcanda or Cesland

Industry & Trade

The locrium mining and processing industry is the main source of employment in Splische. It hosts workers from the nearby mine and is the loading point for locrium being taken to the Ensele River for easy transport.

History

Like many other locrium mining towns, Splische seemed to spring up over night as the demand for locrium grew following the spread of Metal Channeling. The rush on locrium began in the northern region of the Thetbron Mountains and spread south along the Ensele River. The amount of locrium dropped off sharply the farther south the rush spread. Splische would end up being the farthest south that mining companies would find a profitable amount of locrium for which to establish a mine.

Geography

Splische is located in the Thethbron Mountains along the western bank of the Ensele River where it branches to form the Pinlow River.

Natural Resources

Though not the most lucrative resource in the area, Splische is surrounded by woodlands that are the primary source of lumber for buildings in the village.
