Sudlan Bay Trading Post
Sudlan Bay Trading Post was a trading post in central Leland, located on the shores of Sudlan Bay in modern day Deamei. While no longer the center of trade, it still exists today as a tourist destination where one can find artisanal goods from around Leland.
History
Following the end The Great Invasion, Leland was a mostly united land for the first time in recorded history. This lead to a widening of trade throughout the peninsula. Due to its central location and easy access to the primary water routes through the heart of Leland, Deamei Peninsula was the prime location for a major trading hub. While several smaller trading posts popped up along the coast of Deamei, the largest one was located on the northern bank along Sudlan Bay.
What started as a collection of docks eventually grew to a large settlement with thriving markets and businesses. Some businesses still running today found their start at the trading post, including Vinehive Entertainment Industries growing from the humble beginnings of the Vinehive Inn. By the fall of the Queendom, Sudlan Bay Trading Post was seeing more goods change hands on any given day than all other major trading posts in Leland put together.
Sudlan Bay Trading Post ran into some trouble in the early 700s. The beginning of the Silver Eagle Rebellion was marked by a prisoner ship docked at the trading post being set ablaze by members of Silver's Claw in 706. The ship then exploded, spreading copies of Silunsei's Manifesto across the docks for all to read. This event led to an increase in the presence of Queendom forces for security purposes which also led to more searches of ships and seizure of illicit goods that had previously slipped through the cracks.
Following the eventual fall of the Queendom, Sudlan Bay Trading Post benefited from proximity to the capital of the newly formed Leland Confederacy, but it soon fell out of favor as Deamei City developed its own trade market. The trade post still exists to this day, but it no longer trades in the sheer quantity of goods that it did in its heyday.
