Void Atriarch

Void Atriarch is an unofficial title given to the head of the Loshkva family. The title is a reference to the family's tradition of raising crovins, a group of which is called a void. Depending on the situation, the person who holds the position may be referred to as the Void Patriarch/Matriarch or Void Father/Mother.   The void atriarch is responsible for exerting Loshkva influence in any aspect of society that is deemed appropriate. This could involve meeting with political officials, negotiating with trade officials, or mediating disputes between underground organizations. They also still serve a public facing role in certain ceremonies and festivals in Dovala due to the historical significance of Dovren Loshkva. Most importantly, the void atriarch protects the interests of the family above all other things by whatever means necessary, legal or otherwise.   Though there is no official precedent in regards to the succession of the title, it has rarely been given to someone other than a child of the current head of the family. The successor is usually groomed from a young age in the ways of Loshkva power, taking on more responsibility as they get older and serving as a stand-in when the atriarch is unable to attend an event or doesn't want to get their hands dirty. There has occasionally been resentment from those not selected for succession, leading to the challenging of authority. This is usually handled by way of a duel, the exact details of which have always been a family secret.   As a part of tradition, each void atriarch sits for a portrait with a crovin they have trained and the portrait is hung in the foyer of Loshkva manor.
