Withered Black Vine Bloom Powder

Used for poisons and dyes, withered black vine bloom powder is derived from the blooms of the Withered Black Vine. The bright-red flowers are rare, but are easily seen due to the contrast with the desolate greyness of The Wasteland. Wandering into The Wasteland in order to retrieve these flowers, however, is a dangerous prospect for everyone but the Rezuslic who reside within it.

A Dye to the South

For those residing north of the Ganuiles Mountains, bright colored dye was traditionally difficult to come by due to climate and the difficulty in reaching the other side of the mountains for trade. Wealthy individuals seeking a vibrant red dye were willing to pay a significant amount for one or two withered black vine flowers, especially when trade ground to a halt in the winter months. Those desperate for money would risk their lives in The Wasteland to find the flowers. While a few individuals became adept at Wasteland survival and were able to make a living on the service, charging their own prices, many who wandered too far in search of flowers did not return from their expeditions.
While not as lucrative a business as it once was due to easier trading in modern time and an aversion to using toxic materials when possible, withered black vine bloom powder is still considered a niche product and a traditional color dye.

A Poison to the Rezuslic

Deep within The Wasteland, the Rezuslic were responsible for the cultivation and spread of the withered black vine in order to keep outsiders from discovering their existence. Their cultural obsession with poisons includes the use of withered black vine flower in immunity-building rituals. The bloom powder holds much higher value for them in this capacity and is therefore not used as a dye.
