Les Jungfreund ont gouverné la ville durant les 500 dernières années, mais depuis l'édit pris par Karl-Franz , ils ont été déposés et sont partis en exil au Rocher Noir, dans les environs de la ville.
Depuis la ville est dirigée par le conseil de la ville avec une intervention de Karl-Franz pour certaines décisions.
De manière discrète, les familles nobles historiques tentent de montrer leur influence pour tenter de prendre le controle d'übersreik, notamment les von Bruner ou les Aschaffenberg .
