When the Gods first created the worlds and the planes, they used their divine energy freely and without caution. This turned out to be a near-fatal mistake as the uncontrolled energy that wasn't properly guided slipped away from them, and transformed into something new. Something out of their control. Now born were the Elder Titans (sometimes called the Dead Gods), beings of raw, pure and unfiltered chaotic energy that rivaled the Gods in power for they were made of the same essence. The Gods soon realized their mistake, but by then several of the Titans had already fully formed and developed consciousness (albeit an alien one). They wouldn't be ripped apart without a fight. But for every blow the Gods struck, for every tear they created in the Titan's skins, it healed..with their own energy. They were being siphoned, drained to further empower the Titans. The Gods knew how dangerous a situation this was and considered fleeing, but Larum posed another solution: to seal the Titans. They lured the Titans near one of the farthest planes, one that they had not yet had a plan for, until now. They pushed them in and sealed it off with an inverted form of their own divine essence that harmed the Titans if they tried to tear at it. And thus the Titans were sealed in their own little dimension, the Far Realm, where they could fight and play and create new toys of their own, but they could never leave. Not on their own at least. They grasp at every little opportunity, every little crack in the seal to send through their creations which corrupt those in the other realms with but one goal: to be freed. While perhaps a controversial statement, in a sense the Titans cannot even be considered evil. Evil will try to steal the universe, but at least it considers it worth stealing. The Titans would trample and destroy it without even according its victims the dignity of hatred. They wouldn't even think of or notice them
