Elemental Princes

Each of the four regions of the Chaos Wastes (often called the Elemental Planes as well, even though it is inaccurate) is ruled by a triumvirate of Elemental Princes. These represent the different sides of their respective elements, and they keep each other in check. When one oversteps his bounds, the other two call them back. While they have worshipers among many different species, each of them represents one elemental species (e.g. Phoenix or Water Weird) in particular, of which they were the first progenitor. They still take the form of the species they represent, except they are much larger and more powerful, they are effectively demigods.   As a sidenote, the title of Elemental Prince is a kind of mistranslation. In Primordial the title does not have any gender connotation, because elementals do not have genders to begin with. In that sense they could be called Elemental Princesses as well, and some prefer to call them Elemental Sovereigns.
