Tatzlford Market

The people of Tatzlford have put a lot of work into the new district. The thick forests have been trimmed back; though it appears that they have chosen to retain many of the ancient growth to shade and protect the area. Additionally it must have taken many hours of back breaking work to shift some of the larger stones and boulders and to shift the earth to level out the ground.   It seems to have worked well judging by the many new shops and vendors. From where you stand you can see dozens of shops filling the new roads and avenues. Some still so freshly constructed that the paint is unblemish, some still under construction (though determined merchants don't seem to let the unfinished state prevent them from making a sale), and many shops of more temporary construction hosting travelling traders. Indeed it would seem that Tatzlford has a better selection of shopping opportunities than the older and more established Talons Rest.   A few shops nearest catch your eye.   A Bolt Above - This simple wooden shop is filled with shelves and shelves of fabrics. Its owner, a young human man barely into adulthood, named Herbert Wright, recently moved her from Gralton. He seems a little agitated and paranoid, always watching as though expecting threats around every corner. Additionally he seems curiously unwashed, though his shop is immaculately clean.   Light in the Dark - A small stout stone structure more reminiscent of a cottage holds this store. It's proprietor and older human woman named Melinda Coleman. This woman strongly reminds you of every mother you've ever known. She, notably, is missing her right arm when she was six and she always wears dark glasses even inside or at night.   Conserved Feast - A long wooden building with what looks like a large underground part. This store holds many crates of sealed crockery containing jams, preserves, etc. Each neatly labeled on cards by Cleo Scott, an exceptionally intelligent middle aged human woman from Urigen. She somehow keeps track of the thousands of jars with a filing system that seems to consist of many envelopes tucked throughout the shop. She usually wears a shoulder-parrot named Cheeky and has a half-elven fiance named Farryn Yelthyra though many question the long term prospects given they are nearly always seen fighting.   Tasty Treats - The smell near this stone and wood structure can only be described as enticing. An older human man, Parnell Ward, produces dozens of loaves of bread each day and a rotating variety of other baked goods. Though anyone intending to buy should plan for an extended visit while Parnell regales with his stories. Which fortunately for the trapped shopper are usually very entertaining. He moved here from western Brevoy to escape the horrors of the war and refuses to discuss the topic. On Saturdays he always closes his shop early and makes a point of sealing the thick wooden shutters over the windows and securely locking and barring the doors leading to some curiosity from his neighbors.   Molly's - This seamstress is already earning a steady stream of business selling fancier outfits. Molly Allen, a young and calculating mother Pitax obsessed with fashions. She has a knack for adapting different styles of outfits to suit the body types of her patrons. She looks young for her age and she always carries a tape measure; usually looped around her neck. Her young twins, Gawn & Balan, are often crawling around the floor of her shop. Of their father she has never shared any information.   Health and Hearth - This shop at the end of a street has a small garden in front with well tended herbs and plants. Unusually the sign above the door is in Dwarven runes instead of Taldane. They are maintained by Annabelle Trescothik, a younger dwarven woman from distant Peddlegate in Druma, who turns her clever skills to the creation of many poultices, remedies and medicines. She's very curious and excited about the potential bounty of the Narlmarches.   These mere handful of shops sit near dozens of more industrious businesses selling a wide variety of goods.
