Tony Smith

Second Death

Tony Smith began his existence as one of countless unamed Warforged created by the Artificer Yeros Tarkelby in Tarkeltopia. Tony was activated by Yeros to protect Tarkeltopia against The Wavebreaker and his Grave Reminders, but was possessed by one of the later and had his soul ejected from its mechanical shell.   That soul, unsure about its previous life wandered aimlessly until it saw a bright light. Inside the light the lost soul saw a young boy who spoke to him.

Yearning for Yeros

The Warforged awoke on a workbench. He was being repaired by his creator's brothers, Ertor and Valdon.   "It was touch and go there for a while. We weren't sure we were going to recover you," Valdon said.   "How long was I out?" the construct queried.   "By our reckoning its been about two weeks," Ertor said, "but its hard to trust our calendars anymore." The Gnome pressed a button and the shutter on the window opened. Tarkeltopia was no longer in a void. It hovered in a solar system.   "I thought our universe was destroyed," the metallic soilder stated.   "It was," Valdon replied, "This is something new. We don't understand it."   "Not even Yeros understands?" the confused Construct asked.   "Our brother fled during the attack," Ertor answered. "Actually, we wondered if you could locate him."   Ertor and Valdon gave the Warforged a ship and some supplies and he set off searching for his creator. The Construct also began to notice strong magical energies that he couldn't quite control.   He started by looking on the Twin Slabs. He asked around about Yeros, and many people told him that most Gnomes were found on the clockwork island city of Goldmistral, one of the only land cities that could be found on the waterworld of Reigos.   Touching down in Goldmistral, the Warforged sought to find Yeros. However, he also conferred with Wizards about his new magical abilities. None of these Wizards thought it possible for a Construct to posess inate magical ability and the mechanical man was unable to produce evidence on command, so he followed their condescending device to be assessed by a blacksmith.   The Warforged wandered to an Autognome Blacksmith. They were similar and got along. The Autognome, who called himself the Autonomous Smith, offered the Warforged an apprenticeship.

Autonomous Apprentice

The Warforged proceeded to work for the Autonomous Smith. The Blacksmith trained the amateur and even upgraded his weapons, arming him with special Reigonian weapons: an armcannon, an automatic shield, and an electrified sword.   The upgraded Warforged with his powerfuo weapons and chaotic magic dispatched threats easily, but his Autognome teacher still didn't dare to send him into Mad Dwarves' Quarry alone. The Autonomous Smith prepared himself and his student appropriately for the threat of insane Dwarven miners, but ultimately still died in the Quarry when the two came face to face with an alien monster.   The Warforged was prepared for threats like these, and the Blacksmith was not. The Autonomous Smith died, telling his student that Yeros and the monsters are "connected."   The Warforged wasn't sure what to do with that information exactly but took his friend to be buried. From that day on the Warforged was known as "Tony Smith" in honor of his fallen mentor.

Elder's Station

Tony Smith later joined a party of bounty hunters on an expedition to find answers about whatever was happening in the Elder's Station.
