Beshal's Corruption
Beshal's Corruption is a form of curse created and emanated by Beshal, the Traitor. Basically, anyone that dies in The Grand Desert, can be revived and used as an undead lackey by Beshal, should he want. This power was granted by Amled thyself and it is nowadays maintained on the undergrounds of the Ruined Cathedral of the Lightbringer in the southern part of the desert, but is held by Beshal, that lives in her pyramid in the northeastern part of the desert.
During the times of the First Elvish Expedition to Ralbun Island, Beshal made many elf and dwarves lackeys this way when they died while exploring the desert and studying its creatures. One of these lackeys was the military commander of the expedition himself, Serthes. Therefore, The Frozen Maul is directly tied to The Draconic Traitor.
To end the corruption, one must either kill Beshal or destroy the underground laboratory in the cathedral. However, after this is done, the already undead creatures do not die or whither. Instead, they'll just roam the land (unless they were already tied to another creature. Beshal can "give" control of her undeads to other beings. Many resurrected dinos, therefore, have been "given" to the cultist commander Kay Saafeld). However, upon the destruction of the laboratory, they'll become weaker.
