Outpost 13
"You're new here and if you want to stay there are some things you need to know. Everyone does more than their share of the work around here. There is always lots to do. We aren't walking aimlessly we are on our way to help lift a barn. Secondly, if you are hurt or sick, do not force yourself to work. Let us know you're sick. We'll pick up the slack and you'll get some rest. Last, forget all of your biases from the nation. This is where people come to be honest. Now, grab that rope."
Government
The settlement is run by the people. Taxes were abolished when they split from @Caldaan.
Industry & Trade
The community at Outpost 13 is self-sufficient. However they do trade some @gwana for fabrics and medical supplies.
Infrastructure
The people of Outpost 13 have accomplished much. They built watermills and windmills very quickly. A small mine provides metal for a the town. They have built a great system of runoff waterways to reduce damage to fields during periods of heavy rain.
History
Outpost 13 was founded on a remote island by @Caldaan. They remained a colony for fourteen years until EX 34. The taxation was very unpopular given that they didn't receive anything in return due to their remote location. Eventually when the collector showed up to gather the taxes the @Caldaan soldiers stationed there joined with the colonists to send the message of independence.
Architecture
The structures here are constructed almost entirely of wood. The buildings are raised a few inches above the ground to avoid damage from flooding during the rainy season.
Geography
The land now occupied by the outpost was once a forest. Turned to plain by demand for lumber and farmland the forest was cleared. Trees were left by the islands edge to reduce erosion and they have removed only a fraction of the forest.
