Ronas Baran

The sound of people working could be heard all around but the artisan carved engraving into the pillar as if it was the only thing that existed. Ronas couldn't stop himself. He stood just out of the way of the passing crowds and began to sketch. To create art of the creation of art.

Of Wood and Fire

Ronas was born in Kramath during the most productive years of the lumber town. Being born to merchant parents, Ronas was never expected to become a labourer and became skilled with charcoal, ink, and paper. He developed a passion for art and drew people at work. When Kramath burned, he fled the town with the other survivors. He would later return and sketch the scenes of the recovering region which he compiled in a book titled Sketches of the Ashland, a gift to his family.   Many years after completing his sketchbook, Ronas would become the mayor of the small town in which he and his family resided. It was during this period that he would experience his second major fire. While not as devastating as the burning of Kramath, it still resulted in dozens dead or injured and would impact the future of Ronas' life.

Appearance

Ronas was of average height and a little bigger around the midsection than most. He kept his hair short, his nails trimmed, and his clothes clean. Never would he wear clothes dyed in reds, yellows, or oranges which reminded him too much of fire. In his early adult life he would draw eyebrows on his face to avoid the embarrassment of having none after losing them in the burning of Kramath, though in his older years he cared less about appearances and showed off his naked face.
