Shadowland Mine

The Shadowland Mine is the largest mine around Acarletto. It is situated at the base of a mountain over what seems like an endless vein of coal, which is distributed around the citadel to power the majority of its industrial might. As the mine is five times larger than any other in the area, the owners have political sway over many of the goings on in the citadel.
Thanks to cheap access to abundant coal, the Mine has 22 warjacks stationed in the facility. The warjacks help defend the mine from minor undead attacks so that the mine can start running in all but the most dire invasions. The mine also has a guardforce ranging from 2 dozen to 100 guards depending on Shadowcloud forecasts.
The labor force is made up of around 60 laborjacks, mostly kept on the surface, and thousands of miners digging away at the sprawling network of tunnels. The mine has gotten so wide that deeper tunnels have been dug as well, which sometimes accidentally breach into the Hellways. For situations like this, the mine contracts with freelance or guilded adventurers on a rotating weekly basis to handle the semi-regular incidents. These contracts are usually given to the lowest bidder, with many groups competing for the guaranteed income.
The mine has been owned by the Demos family of dwarves since long before the World Death, and even offshoots of the family are now some of the richest in the city. The current majority owner of the mine is Camara Demos.
About 15 years ago, Nagal of Devil's Thunder attempted to purcahse the mine from Camara's father (now deceased), but the family refused to sell it.
