Act 1, Scene 4.3: Forward to the right: Black Ooze

Taking this faint path into the forest, along a narrow way lined with high fairy spruce, now drooping and dripping with black rot, and past slim-stalk mushrooms with wide brown caps, now also blackened with rot.
The forest gets thicker and thicker, the smell of mildew cloying and oppressive.
After a mile or so, the path begins to go uphill, still through this forest setting, but now with elevation. The trail is slick and indistinct, and there is some slipping.
Clusters of dying or dead Amanitas are drooping a bit all around, covered in a sheen of black slimy mildew, crowded beneath the tall spruce trees..
It looks as though the hilltop, some 1000' away now, might be free of trees and mushrooms, perhaps a lookout.
[Spores are released (Sick Amanitas) then an ooze drops from the tree]
From the hill, see all around, see vista up the valley, and down to the river, to a lone figure (kelpie) on the right
