Living in only pockets here and there, and identifying with a particular group--usually named for a spider or spidery things--the Drow secretly hate each other (and all those less powerful, and more powerful, than they.  Generally they live in cities of cloying underground perfumes and sick sewer systems, all hewn into the bare rock, and this usually by slaves of verious kinds.  (Trolls are a favorite.)
