Jack City: Possible "random" encounters in Jack City
After the Heroes choose a next direction, they may be met with one or more of the six situations. There is more or less the factor that the group (PC's) are "freaks" or Mornassari, or "stupid aliens."
ONE: Encounter a Low Level Gang of Mongrels and Thugs
ORC BRUTES (lvl 0)
THUG (med human, lvl 1)
GUARD DOG (lvl 1; "Big" lvl 2)
MAFIOSEES (under Mafia, cr2)
COMMONER TENGU (lvl -1)
ZOMBIES (Plague lvl 1; Shambler lvl -1)
GOBLINS (COMMONERS) (lvl -1)
ALWAYs KEEP IN MIND BURGGA KREFF
See 1:2,.Odd Pary, Act 1, Scene 2: Meeting PeopleONE: Encounter a Low Level Gang of Mongrels and Thugs
With a nasty dog on leash. Could just be in open daylight, or at night. It's just an open confrontation. It may draw spectators, and if it doesn't go right for the thugs, they will flee (and come again some day?).
ORC BRUTES (lvl 0)
THUG (med human, lvl 1)
GUARD DOG (lvl 1; "Big" lvl 2)
TWO: Horsebacked patrol of mafiosees,
thinly veiled threat and intimidation, as the party invades their turf. "Who are you with? Who owns you, you bastards?" These of the MATAGLIA family, "wearing loose fitting black cotton shirts and high black leather boots, and cloaks with hoods thrown back. Hair is close cut, military style, eyebrows are prominent black, and their mustaches are long and waxed in curls. Their scowls are of derision and contempt. If not satisfied, will try to run the heroes out of this part of town. HORSES (Horse, Riding, lvl 1)MAFIOSEES (under Mafia, cr2)
THREE: Tengu Sneaks,
just an opportune bunch of thieves preying on what looks like a rich target. Could happen anywhere, streets or inns, etc., but probably at night. TENGU SNEAKS (lvl 2)COMMONER TENGU (lvl -1)
FOUR: Burial Grounds
If this might possibly make sense, perhaps it's the full moon and a local graveyard has some instability. Maybe there's a reason to go into the graveyard. SKELETON GUARD ADVANCED (lvl 1)ZOMBIES (Plague lvl 1; Shambler lvl -1)
FIVE: Charlatan and Three Goblin "Assistants"
Will engage the party somehow, maybe with goblins sneaking up from behind to steal. Working with trickery thereby; the goblins steal while the party is fascinated with the charlatan, etc. CHARLATAN (lvl 3)GOBLINS (COMMONERS) (lvl -1)
