LD II, Prologue, possibility 2: Sailor Conversation: Zombies on the Beach

"A young sailor in a thick wool coat comes in out of the cold--an acquaintance from Kittosi named Frodin Ropestack. He brushes off the snow, gives Keel a nod of greeting, and asks for a seat at your table. His face is a little whiter than white, and he sits down heavily.
"He greets Keel with the familiarity of an acqaintance. 'How's the shipping life, my friend? We havent seen you in port up north. What are you doing... here?'
  [conversation?]

"'Keel my friend, I have news that will chill your bones. There is a strange, utterly evil necromantic being of some kind, living in the north Smithvekk they say. In a little shack or cabin or something. No one really knows.

"'But this mad creature: He spares none in his mad destructive bent for insanity and power. From all the drowned washed up on the shore of Smithvekk, from drowned bodies of all the Bairen shipwrecks, this necromancer is raising these dead into necrotic mobs of zombies, skeletons, and worse...

"The living dead they are, with seaweed for hair, and barnacles encrusting the'ir bodies. I swear, I saw it with my own two eyes. It's real, my friend: The walking dead, life in death, torture of the drowned souls of Bair.

"'Oh, it's horrible.

"'My own response is to come down here to Broond, spend the winter down here, cold though it may be. I pray to The Voyager the winter storms wash these horrid creatures away!

"'In truth these undead mobs may soon invade Blennd and do who knows what damage to the town and its people. And much more then will join the undead armies!' He looks into his beer and shakes his head blearily.

"He looks up from his pint then and says, so... How's the wife and kids?" Act 2, Scene 2 --> Moving Forward
