The Yeshen and Yesh'him

The Yeshen people have a long and storied history, their trajectory of change and evolution being a swift arc of less than 700 years. They left the old country to avoid its threats, and in doing so--rushing across the ocean--lost the memory of who they truly are.   Yeshens are equally adept at city life and (north into the Breaks) the life of farmers and rural laborers. Their sailors are amongst the toughest and most skilled people in Summer's Tales, a strength that Yeshen pirates unfortunately share. By the docks of Coastport one can find some of the greatest crews and ship-makers there ever were.   Yeshens tend to be doggedly independent, and they relish their freedoms. They Founded the Free Cities after all, and the loose governments there provide the independence they look for. The Free Cities are also more lawless than other cities of their size; the self-contained governments are loose and relatively unstable, at the whim it seems of whichever noble house(s) hold the castle at the time.   Yesh'him managed to keep their real form and tradition. They are the "Remembering People," and they see their task as continuing Old Yeshen traditions, spreading them to the Free Cities and up through the breaks. They are also accomplished seafarers, and they will sail to the Kingdom for trade and performance. The Yesh'him are incredible singers. The most talented of Yesh-him bards can hold a Breaks audience captive--literally--for hours, with the telling of the old myths. Their stronghold is the town of Mother yel Yesh'him, along the coast Humans, Yeshen
