Chae-eun succumbs to core decay, inspiring the invention of the Hwacha

Chae-eun, MAI veteran of the third world war and close friend of Ji Min-jae, passes away from premature core decay triggered by a past traumatic injury. The terrible nature of her death shakes Ji Min-jae to her core in such a way that it drives her to invent the first instantaneous core neutralizer, later nicknamed the Hwacha. This device goes on to assist thousands of LAI in their passing before more advanced tachnologies are developed for minimally invasive euthanasia procedures.
