Sensory & Appearance

As you enter the temple, you feel as-though a feeling of immense darkness surrounds you. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the statues lining the entrance of Matron Mothers all bowing toward the far end of the main room. as you look to see what they are facing you are confronted with a towering statue of an incredibly beautiful drow woman with four arms two of which are extended motioning to the ornate altar at her feet, and the other two arms inviting those who enter to join her. It is after seeing the ornate statue, that you recognize the overwhelming smell of incense mixed with a faint smell of sulfur. all of this leads you to realize you are oddly comfortable and almost compelled to venture further into the temple. As you move closer to the altar you begin to hear whispering not in your ear but seemingly inside your mind. the whispers are nearly unrecognizable, but as you focus on them, you realize they are prayers to the spider queen. as you sit on a nearby pew to observe the ritual about to take place you can hear the approaching hymn of Lolth being sung by priestesses as the approach the main room from their personal rooms.
